It has been a rough few weeks. David has been working non-stop (an annual art event and then some) and there has been a snowstorm every week, 3 inches, 20 inches, and now another foot plus. Luckily, David made it home from Boston last night, before midnight, even in the snow. Of course he is gone again! As I began to shovel the car out this morning, I quickly realized we were going nowhere. Even if we got out successfully, how could I get back in? To get our little car out, I have to completely shovel the parking spot. Of course, big vehicles just blast out and over the piles, leaving a mess. And don't get me started on people who shovel all the snow INTO the street, making a clear and passable street into a nightmare for a Mini with a low wheel base (thus the shovel and salt in my trunk). Besides, I can't take James out and make him wait in the car as I shovel back into a parking spot. It's not a five minute job with this snow and I don't work well with a confused, agitated kid. Not to mention I would be a nervous wreck leaving my kid in a car idling in the street as other annoyed drivers edge by. I also can't leave him alone in the house. Although we have a second, real, snow day today, I think we will make it three tomorrow! I already feel the guilt. James has off next week, (for "President's Week"?). Not getting out tomorrow means James will have no therapy or school for a week and a half. But that is life and snow storms throw a monkey wrench in to everything across the board. So after we finish digging out (one of these days), we are running to the beach to frolic in the snow there! Of course it means we just have to dig ourselves IN once we arrive. At least this time, after we shovel, there will be somewhere to pile it!

Hey, don't know if you saw my comment on your post about PANDAS. I'm happy I found you here!
We got our first big snow in about 8 years here and compared to what you get it was nothing, I'm sure. We were so happy to get it, though. It's almost all melted away now :-(.
